Must-Visit, Château Mihope (Meihe Winery), Wine, Art, Life

Château Mihope is situated in the core wine-producing region at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, Ningxia, at 38° north latitude and an altitude of 1100 meters, 4 kilometers west of Zhenbeibao Western Studios in Xixia District, Yinchuan, Ningxia. As a subsidiary of the Junlan Development Platform under Midea Holdings, it is a benchmark advocate for high-quality Chinese estate-bottled wine, consistently adhering to the core brand philosophy of "Life is Art" and integrating artistic texture into the entire process of winery operation, viticulture and winemaking. The estate covers a total area of 1,800 mu, of which 1,500 mu is dedicated to wine grape cultivation, supported by 180 mu of windbreak forest and 17.5 mu of château construction area. It also operates an additional 3,000 mu of self-owned organic vineyards, introducing 300,000 high-quality grape saplings from France. Seven classic wine grape varieties well-adapted to the local terroir of the eastern foot of Helan Mountain are planted across the vineyards, which are fully covered by Israel-imported precision drip irrigation systems. As one of the first batch of wineries in China equipped with a smart vineyard data collection system, Château Mihope has established a strict quality control standard starting from the grape cultivation source, leveraging globally leading irrigation systems, scientific fertilization schemes and comprehensive three-dimensional cultivation technologies to lay a solid quality foundation for every bottle of Mihope fine wine.

The core building of Château Mihope was fully custom-designed by the traditional Italian design firm LASI, featuring an integrated minimalist European style. At the initial design stage, the industry-leading natural gravity winemaking process was adopted, with world-advanced full-chain production equipment covering pre-treatment, fermentation, deep filtration, cold stabilization and bottling fully introduced. Based on a rigorous and scientific winemaking logic, the winery realizes the deep integration of product quality and château space through refined design of process flows, high-standard equipment selection, and balanced consideration of practicality and aesthetic texture. Throughout the whole winemaking process, the estate consistently employs skilled workers with more than 10 years of industry experience to manually select every single grape entering the fermentation tank, eliminating substandard berries from the very source. The fermentation workshop is equipped with a 24-hour full-period intelligent temperature control system, while the underground oak barrel storage area is fitted with Midea central air conditioning to achieve precise constant temperature control. Supported by small-scale fermentation tanks, the winery accurately controls the temperature range of each fermentation link, enabling more delicate and controllable flavor expression during fermentation. Château Mihope selects top-tier French oak barrel brands including Darnajou and Seguin Moreau, and its underground constant-temperature wine cellar can accommodate 1,100 oak barrels at the same time, corresponding to the aging space for approximately 330,000 bottles of fine wine. The dome of the wine cellar is inspired by the vast starry sky dotted with twinkling stars. During the aging process, the wine slowly evolves rich layered flavors in the micro-oxygen environment of the oak barrels, and the air in the cellar is perennially permeated with rich and fragrant wine aroma. Supported by this winemaking system that deeply combines traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, the annual production capacity of the estate is stably maintained at 500 tons, equivalent to about 600,000 bottles of Mihope fine wine, with every bottle delivering consistent premium quality.

Since the initial stage of vineyard construction, Château Mihope has built a top-tier technical advisory team in the industry to provide strong technical support for the outstanding quality of its wines. The estate has successively engaged Prof. Richard Smart, a world-renowned senior viticulturist and leading Australian scholar, to provide full guidance on the preliminary planning of the vineyard base, technical consultation for sapling maintenance, and the establishment of pest and disease control systems. Meanwhile, Dr. Wang Zhenping, a scientist on the national grape cultivation system and Chief Scientist of the Ningxia Wine Industry (Cultivation) Technical Support System, has been invited to provide long-term on-site guidance for the annual production management of the vineyards. In addition, the winery has recruited Marc Dworkin, a world-famous flying winemaker with 30 years of frontline winemaking experience from Bordeaux, France, to serve as the chief winemaking consultant, who oversees the detailed standards of the entire winemaking process. This top-tier technical lineup spanning Australia, China and France ensures that Château Mihope's winemaking techniques are not only well-adapted to the local terroir of the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, but also aligned with the quality standards of the world's top premium wineries.
